As we have already seen, 3D printing helps law enforcement to create robot portraits and trace objects used to commit crimes. The Japanese police used a 3D printer to build a model of a crime scene in order to reconstruct the facts without having to travel.This allows for a better resolution of the case while protecting witnesses and direct victims from a return to the crime scene. An investigation had been stalled for years to understand who and why four people had been killed in a Tokyo house.
A 1/28 scale model of the two-storey house was made by a 3D FLS (Selective Laser Sintering) printer and was made available to the public to recall some memories. Big surprise because hundreds of additional clues could be collected thanks to this 3D printed model.
