3D printed shoes at the Miss America 2014 show The beauty queen Miss Georgia put technology at her feet, in the true sense of the word, by putting on a pair of 3D printed custom-made shoes for the Miss America contest.

A highly symbolic creation for a parade entitled "Show us your shoes" during which the 53 participants must show the pride they have for their homeland through their creativity. Maggie Bridges' wedge shoes are inspired by the "Ramblin' Wreck", the mascot of the Georgia Tech University football team, which is a 1930 Ford Model A Coupé Sport car.

The trio of designers Maren Sonne, Julia Brooks and Jordan Thomas used cutting-edge technologies to create this work of art. The headlights, wheels and bumpers were printed in 3D while the other elements switched to laser cutting and other CNC machines.

The haute couture fashion shows and Miss contests will be more and more "printed" while waiting to see objects connected to these top-of-the-range creations arrive.
